PROJECT TYPE: Bridge Rehabilitation

LOCATION: I-89 between Exit 16 and Exit 17 in the Town of Colchester, Chittenden County

TRAFFIC IMPACT AND DURATION: Crews will be off site starting at noon on Wednesday, November 27 through Sunday, December 1 in observation of the Thanksgiving holiday.

From 7 AM Monday, December 2 through Friday, December 6, I-89 will be reduced to one lane in the non-peak direction between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM. This work is weather dependent. There will be no weekend work.

I-89 northbound can be reduced to one lane during the weekday AM peak hours (6 AM to 10 AM) and the off-peak hours (10 AM to 2 PM & 7 PM to 6 AM). I-89 southbound can be reduced to one lane during the off-peak hours (10 AM to 2 PM & 7 PM to 6 AM) and the weekday PM peak hours (2 PM to 7 PM).

Crews will continue general site clean-up including removing materials from the medians along Interstate 89 between Exits 16 and 17 beginning Monday, December 2 through Friday, December 6. This work will be completed between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM and is weather dependent.

The Colchester I-89 Bridges Project is substantially complete and crews will suspend construction activities for the winter on Friday, December 6. Crews will return in the spring to complete punch list items. The remaining work should be minimal.
